PostSubject: Aggressive Predators Behaviour Mod (FSM Moddings)   Sat Mar 31, 2018 12:34 am

Hi guys, before i start talking about this mod, i will have to mention the credits first. Because without the foundations from other mods, i will never be able to do this. So all the credits go to:

PMEP and GEP (both V1 and V2) for the FSM foundation
Models: Rugops model from Mesozoic Revolution (i will explain later why i use this model for an FSM based mod)


So ok, what is this mod about? Well, this mod makes your predator kinda OP but not by increasing their stats in the INI files. Instead, this mod helps improving their AIs, especially their hunting methods. We will go into details about this:

1. Global Changes
Remember when you first installed PMEP and you found just how awesome it was that all predators had their unique attack methods inspired from various sources. The only problem is that, for most of the times you would not see them using any of those awesome attacks. Really, most of the times, predators will just run into their prey, headbutt it, slow it down a little bit and then they just start running away from their preys! With this mod, you will no longer see any of that, instead predators will always use their special attacks when they attack their preys. That is, when predators attack their prey, they will strike them down with unimaginable power and ferocity leaving their preys no chances of escaping! Twisted Evil . Here are the individual bonuses for each carnivores. Well let just start with big guys first.

2. Individual Changes
a. Large Carns
Allosaurus: She will now always use her special attack of which she will headbutt her prey then continue to slash it apart with her head. It is the same as PMEP, the only change is that she will always use it now. However, she also has a secondary special attack now! The secondary attack is derived from PMEP Carcharodontosaurus's attack of which she will rip a junk out of her prey, leaving screaming in agony. The chances of her secondary attack happening would be lower than those of her primary. I want to make sure she retains her signature attack.

Acrocanthosaurus: just like Allo, she will always use her PMEP signature attacks now. In addition to that, she also has a secondary attack similar to Carcha of which she will take a junk out of her prey. The chances of her secondary attack happening would also below than her primary one.

Carcharondontosaurus: she will always use her signature attack of which she will tear a junk out of her preys. There is a lesser chance that she will use a special attack similar to that of Allo.

Spinosaurus: in addition to her PMEP special attack, she will also use a secondary attack derived from Trex. That is, there is a lesser chance she will knock her prey over with her head, then continuously biting them down with her jaw.

Trex: the Queen herself has something new now! Have you ever wondered why the creators of PMEP allowed Spino to use her deathduel animation for attacking preys, but not Trex even though Trex has so many more deathduel animation? Well, this mod will change all of that. Because Trex will now use her Trike deathduel animation to attack her prey now! The way it is executed is similar to that of Spino. Trex still retains her PMEP attack, it just happens less now.

b. Small and Medium Carns
Raptor: it not an aggressive predator mod without the infamous raptor. Well, the raptor is even more insane now than ever before!. If a raptor is hungry and she gets a taste of her prey blood, it is over for her prey. Because she will now attack them relentlessly and there is NOTHING they can do to stop her from attacking them. They might try to flee, intimidate, or even injure her and she will not stop, she will just come back with even greater ferocity. The only to stop a raptor from her blood thirst now is to kill her completely, there are no other ways. But you think that is all, nope, not yet. She has something new now. Before this mod, after the raptor finish attacking her preys, they will just run away like nothing happens, they sometimes even turn back immediately to strike her back before she can regain her foot. All of that will no longer happen now because after the raptor finishes attacking her prey, the slash damage of her teeth and claws are too much that it will cause the prey to be injured, unable to run and fight back, giving the raptor chances to attack again and again until the prey is too weak and falls to its knees through blood losses and shocks. Even though the prey is still alive by that time, the raptor will finish it in an instant. Raptors have no remorse! Twisted Evil
You think that is all, nah, there are more... When attacking small preys, the knock over duration of small preys has been dramatically increased to give the raptor times to regain her foot for a second attack. Also, if you install PMEP, she will also attack Anky and Brach now by pouncing them repeatedly and knocking them over!

Dilophosaurus: the small predator is now venomous again!. Not only so she is aggressive and venomous as a king cobra. Most of the time she will flee if threaten, but when she finally has enough of it, she will turn her back and spit her extremely potent venom at her attackers, causing them to fall into comma. She might also kill her attackers after that if she is hungry. Her attack animation is the same as PMEP, the only difference is that each of her attacks now carries potent venom that will cause instant paralysis. NOTE: make sure to set Rampage time and Comatose time above 0.0 for ALL dinosaurs in the dinosaur ini files for this to work.

Albertosaurus: still retains her special from PMEP but she also has a new one now. Her secondary is derived from that of Acro of which she will repeatedly bite her prey's flank.

Ceratosaurus: the poor Cerato does not have any special attacks in PMEP. She shares the same attacks with Alberto except for Alberto's special. So in this mod, i'll give her the same attack as Carcha of which she will take a junk out of her prey. I just think it suits her description of being an unfussy eater. It might not sound like a lot but she is a lot more powerful now. You'll see Wink

3. Compatability
This mod is meant to be compatible with PMEP, if you use other mods it might cause some issues.

4. Known Issues:
The Dilopho's size needs to be set as small for this to work which is less than 5.0, you need to change this in her dino INI file
The Raptor's size needs to be set as medium for this to work, which between 6.0 and 8.0.
I'm unable to to fix these issues despite numerous attempts. If anyone knows how to, please let me know.
If anyone finds any issues, please let me know too.
Also the reason why i use the Rugops model from Mesozoic Revolution is because the PMEP's Dilopho model is modified in a way that it will not work with my mod. If you want to use other models, feel free to do it, as long as it is not the PMEP's model, it should work perfectly fine. The vanilla model works fine too if you want to retain the PMEP's look.
5. Installation:
Just Copy&Paste and Replace everything in your JPOG folder. Make sure to BACKUP everything first.

6. Update:
* V1.1:
_ Allo: Allo now uses Acro's attack as her secondary attack. I just want to retain the axe-head attack that makes her unique
_ Acro: Acro now uses PMEP Trex's as her secondary. She will now charge into her prey, knock them over, then bite them repeatedly when they are on the ground. I always think of Acro as a brute among the Carnosaur so i gave something more brute force!
_ Trex: Trex has new attack animation! She will now use her Anky's deathduel animation for attack in addition to her other attacks. Trex now has up to 3 special attacks to use.
_ Alberto: Alberto will now also use Allo's attack... Basically what you will see most of the times is that Alberto will bite like 100 times on her prey. She is pretty crazy now. Alberto is no longer CANNIBALISTIC. She will try to kill her prey now instead of others.
_ Cerato: Cerato is no longer cannibalistic too.
_ Raptor: She is even more deadly now... Not even the Ceratopsians is a match for her... NOTE: She is only as bloodthirsty as i described if she is extremely hungry. Most of the times, she is actually pretty chill. Very Happy
_ Many bugs fixed
_ The bug with the size of Dilopho and Raptor is still not fixed though. I tried but still not successful. Make sure to change the size of your Dilopho to Small (equal or less than 5.0) and Raptor to Medium (6.0-8.0)
* V1.2:
_ The size bug has been fixed: Regardless of what size you set, it will not affect Dilopho and Raptor's behaviour. Dilopho will always be poisonous and Raptor won't.
_ Dilopho: Dilopho's venom will no longer paralyze the target immediately. Instead, it will cause the target to flee. After a while, the venom starts to take effect and the target will start to slow down and be dizzy. After that, the venom will take full effect and they will be fully paralyzed. It's more realistic this way. Venom should cause the target to be slowly paralyzed.
_ Fixed a bug that causes carnivores such as Allo, Acro, Alberto, Cerato, and Carcha to sometimes spare preys while the preys are low in health or on the ground.
_ Spino: The Fisher King has a new attack in addition to his other attacks. He can now strike his head downward rapidly multiple times on his prey. The attack simulates how Spino would strike a fish in water. The attack actually already exists in PMEP, i just tweaked it a little bit.
_ Miscellaneous bugs fixed
_ Known issues: Cerato and Alberto will not attack other small carns even if they are extremely hungry. However, Dilopho and Raptor still attacks other small carns if they are hungry.

Looks a very cool mod, maybe you should try to edit herbivores behavior to make it more complete and post the download on mod db

I personally believe that the herbivores in PMEP are already pretty OP! But yeah, i might still give them a try to see what i can do. Also, the download is up, you can test it out if you want. Very Happy

Hi Fdinick, glad you enjoy my mod Very Happy. Yes, you can use my mod in your ModPack, just make sure to put my name in the credits.

I would like to work with you on the JWFK ModPack but there are two things about me that you need to know:
1. My times are limited: I will try to work on the mod if i can, but if i cant i may have to postpone or refuse working on the mod Sad . The good thing is that i'm currently having a one week break from the uni so i will be able to work on the mod more. But when i'm back to the uni, i cannot guarantee you that i'll still be able to do it.
2. My FSM Modding skills are still rather limited: I'm still learning it. There are NO FMS modding tutorials around so the best i can do is to use PMEP and GEP as guidelines and with a tons of trials and errors to get the result i want. I'm guess i'm more familiar with the FSM files than most people but i have not mastered it yet so there are many things i'm unable to do.

If you are ok with these two things, then i would like to contribute my works to the JWFK mod cheers

I believe it is compatible with GEP V2 too though i have not actually tested it out. The only issue i can think of is that Raptor will not attack Anky and Brach. However, if you want Raptor to attack Anky and Brach, just take the RaptHngr.fsm file from PMEP and replace your file in the Win folder and everything will be good Very Happy
