I was relistening to the JW soundtrack earlier because I haven't listened to it in full in a while, and man is it a good soundtrack! A lot of intense pieces, good callbacks, and moving moments. I'd forgotten how well Giacchino wrote this soundtrack, but wow! I'm really hoping he's back for JP5.

As am I. Giacchino would be great - still is the obvious choice I think.

I'd like Giacchino to stay onboard as well.

Giacchino was terrific. I have two suggestions:
Alexandre Desplat (did Godzilla 2014) - such a large Alien/Jurassic Park vibe to it
James Newton Howard (did King Kong 2005) - love that soundtrack

That being said, I too would be interested to see Fernando Velazquez do the soundtrack. He would definitely bring a very eerie/scary atmosphere to the movie

I'd like Giacchino personally, or John Williams, but if they're going for horror theme, they might want to search for someone else.

But his style doesn't fit with a Jurassic movie.

I only like SOME of the JW soundtrack. The rest is just boring to me.

I'd like Giacchino to stay away to be honest, get Fernando Velázquez in!

I would love if he could get to make a JP soundtrack, with a tone that fits with the franchise.

I don't want synthesized music anywhere near Jurassic Park, so no Hans Zimmer for me. In order to fit the theme of the franchise, I think more traditional music fits. That goes for any franchise that once had John Williams involved.

Really it should be John Williams or Michael Giacchino. If it's someone new I'd love Hans Zimmer to do it. Interstellar, The Dark Knight Trilogy, and Man of Steel are all great works by him.

But Bayona and Giacchino are friends. Besides, Bayona praised a lot Giacchino's JW score in a tweet as soon as JW got released.

Well it could still be Giacchino? but I just think Bayona will give his man Velazquez a go for something different!

Interesting suggestion, and an unusual one. Not many people recall that Carpenter is a composer and musician on top of being a director. His themes would definitely bring a sense of tension and suspense at a level that we haven't heard since TLW. He would definitely not be a bad choice.

I also would like go suggest Mark Mancina, who did the music to Twister. He would definitely bring a very emotive score to JP5.

I'm hoping that Giacchino goes for a more grand, sweeping score with lots of swells and tension this time around. While I do think the JW soundtrack was good, there were a few too many "quirky" moments for my liking.

He can certainly pull it off, as I feel that his score to Super 8 is one of the best scores in recent memory.

I'm liking the idea of Giacchino going for a more Dawn of the Planet of the Apes style score this time round. Since the story is supposed to be darker.
