TBH the only thing he went overboard with was the building of the wall on the Mexico border and banning all Muslims, anyone with half a brain knows he couldnt legally do that and even if he could, there's no way Congress would allow it to happen. The part about vetting immigrants and the like from all nations to make sure they are who they say they are and to make sure they're here legally with good intentions was the point I believe he's going to stick with. There's nothing really bigoted about that, it's to keep the country safe because heaven forbid an attack like the ones in France happen due to people slipping through the cracks on account of open borders, which is something Hillary wanted to do.

I do enjoy seeing all the Clinton supporters having a meltdown and trying to claim that if you voted Trump you hated all women. Ya know, it had nothing to do with what Clinton did to get the nomination, it's because she's a woman. It's comical.

I'll keep it short: I'm pretty scared of what Trump may do to this country moving forward. I am not a fan of Hilary, but when there's video of the KKK openly celebrating for this win, I can't help but feel we've gone and done something incredibly wrong.

agreed, TDM. this whole thing is literally making me feel sick to my stomach.

that said, i think we should probably avoid talking about it here further--chances are, it's just gonna get more incensed and someone's gonna say something they regret that hurts the Mainframe community even more.

To be fair, not every little thing that someone does is a reflection of Donald Trump.

I just think all that was just Trump being politically incorrect to get votes from people who sick and tired of all the politically correct, cultural marxist, SJW crap that Hollywood keeps pumping out.

The odd thing is during the primary, Bernie Sanders got more of the female millennial vote then Hillary did. Millennials were never dumb enough to believe that Hillary was a true feminist. A true feminist wouldn't thrash her husband's accusers, let alone stay with him despite knowing how much of sex addict he is.

What I find comical is all the Trumpet parroting about how "trump won't do any of this and he'd never be allowed to stop worrying" (nevermind that the House and the Senate are basically in the GOP's pockets right now) or "lgbt rights will not be affected you're overreacting" (usually by people that aren't even remotely LGBT and apparently know nothing about Mike "let's convert all the gays" Pence) or "hillary was a corrupt lying crook" (oh so Trump isn't corrupt, never lies and has never broken or even bended the law whatsoever, uh huh) and other crap like that.

Of course when you actually go up and tell them all this, they suddenly go silent and retreat back into their little echo chambers.

Or they just accuse people of "oppressing" them, leave the thread and go find somewhere else to bait people with their shitposting.

I don't disagree that Trump was, and still is, very flawed. However, as I said earlier, if you want the real reason why Trump won, then blame/thank the establishment Democrats and their Wall Street cronies who let Hillary cheat the primary and thinking that people would be blissfully ignorant of how corrupt she is.

If people honestly believe that Trump is going to radically change the country with his ideas, that's fearmongering.

(And without having to deal with any recounts via 2000.) I'm in no position to do so otherwise. He won the presidency, won my respect, and won a fair chance from me.
Technically, he lost the popular vote to Clinton.

This week was crazy with all this. I personaly knew Trump had a high chance to win and I'm not that surprised he won. I hope he does a nice job and all americans be safe and well, hope the country get's better too, that will influence not only USA but all the world, so yeah I hope everything goes fine.

My only fear is that some supremacists will get more lounder now. By no means I'm saying all people that voted on Trump are racists, I'll never label anyone as racist because of that.  I know there's a lot of people that still deny racism exists and never went away, but this isn't hiperbole, I've read some pretty nasty stuff (that I hope it's fake) of some racists showing their side and scaring people off.

I know the media lies a lot but I've also read KKK fully supports Trump and were celebrating he won, basically they're like "Oh Trump will let us do whatever we want so let's finally show our faces". This is scary as hell, I'm white but I'm not american so I can understand why some people posted they're scared because Trump won.

i and others have already seen alot of reports of hate crimes being on the rise over facebook. considering we're probably stuck with him (he has a bunch of upcoming trials which could very well see him impeached, including for the rape of a minor) i sincerely hope that he turns out to be more moderate than his campaign led us to believe, but i'm not holding my breath. seeing all this keeps making me feel physically ill.

in related news, some movements have come up in response to the election which could change everything: one is to abolish the electoral college and one to see California secede from the Union. i have mixed feelings about that both, for the latter in no small part because i live there, but i'd honestly prefer not to get into that since this is a news thread, not a political thread (and i think it should stay that way--like i said before, religion and politics are waay too polarizing for a JP fansite to be discussing. if people here know each other on facebook, i recommend taking it there instead)

I'm seeing a lot since his election. There seem to be a high number of people calling those who voted for Trump racist. I firmly believe there were a portion who did vote based on the racial statements Trump has made, but you can't label everyone a racist. I've seen more than one person basically saying "Well they didn't vote for him because he said that, but they knew he'd said those things, and that is just as bad." I'm sorry, but I find that wrong.

That said I did not vote for Trump, so I'm not taking it like some personal attack, but I still disagree.

And if you honestly believe that Trump is completely incapable of negatively affecting the country with all the ammunition he has saddled up, particularly with Mike Pence as his VP and the GOP having the House and the Senate in their pockets, that's delusion.

I've saw/read pretty nasty stuff on Twitter from alt-right supremacists (the term they call themselfes). They're popping in every political tweet with no fear in saying hateful bullshit.

It's also funny how easy it is to spit hate behind a monitor without showing your face. Anyone can do that. Cowards won't even put their real faces on the accounts. I hope most of them are just losers that  don't even have the balls to talk with people. I doubt most of them would dare be racist against someone in real life.

I don't doubt there is a quite a bit of anger and hate being spewed, but I think a lot is this is being purposely being overblown by the media since they were so in the tank for Hillary and now they're trying to smear Trump supporters because they-the media-are a bunch of sore losers.

While this is not an ideal situation from my perspective (I tend to lean politically conservative, but I'm not a Trump supporter), I'm at least glad that the election is over. I didn't like either of the candidates. I guess, in short, I'm disappointed that Trump won, but I'm not disappointed that Hillary lost. I got so tired of being told that I'm supposed to support Hillary just because I'm a woman - she doesn't represent anything about me. They were both pretty terrible candidates in different ways IMO, and in the end I just ended up voting third party (which I never do; I know it's kind of a wasted vote, but I just couldn't bring myself to do anything else). I feel kind of emotionless about the whole thing, really...

I usually hate discussing politics, especially during this election cycle - I couldn't really have any discussions with anyone from either side without getting into some kind of an argument. I understand the hopes and fears on both sides of this; I just hope things work out for the best at this point.

Well considering Trump seems to. E backsliding on several policies already, I'm still extremely skeptical, potentially still somewhat scared, but I can't help but feel my initial assumptions was at least a bit right: he ran on an extreme platform to stir up as much publicity as possible and then ran with it.

I'm not saying he'll be good, hell as a man running our country with no political experience, it sounds really bad. I'm still not convinced he won't do some awful stuff, especially with the people he is picking for the White House, but he's considerably toned things down just since the election.

TBH, I feel this way for the most part. I'm more happy that Hillary lost then you are, but I still have concerns about Trump. I'm willing to give him a fair chance for the first 2 years, but that's only because he has proven me wrong so many times. I'm just far more happy that this strange, odd, weird, bizarre, crazy election is finally over.

I just hope that they are forced to help rebuild the buildings, or at least many of them, that were destroyed as a result of their actions. Prison seems just a bit too cheap and lazy. They caused this mess, therefore, they need to clean up after it in some form.
